Last Saturday, I had my MUET (comprehension, writing, & listening). I had to go to SMK Putrajaya Presint 18(1). The school was nice & everything great ... until the listening part. How can we have a listening test if the tape/cd cannot be heard? Whenever a woman's (high pitch/tome) voice came out, the sound 'broke'. Half the hall complained. So, we had the recording repeated at least 3 times. But, however, there are parts where we can't even make out any words, even after changing the tape/cd. *sigh* The invigilators even had to say sorry, & said they'll forward it to MPM about the tape. *sigh*

This is the first time I've been back home. (^_^) I admit, I may have been out of the 'home' loop for a while. When I called mam saying I'm on the way home, the said 'don't forget to ring the bell, kalau tak, takleh bukak gate.'

My first thought was 'my house got a doorbell?' For those who don't know, we used to have a doorbell (around 10-15 years ago) but now it's just a decoration on the wall. Anyway, after confirming myself that our home had just had a major renovation (0.01 secs of thought), my second thought was 'owh, we got an automatic gate, finally.' Mama had thought of getting an automatic gate for a while now, as most of the time she went out for usrah, she came home around 11 to 12 at night. So, with an auto gate, she wont have to get out of the car to enter the house. One less thing to worry about. (^-^) I even got my own gate key :P

Anyway, as you can see on the right, my room (and 2 other rooms) had been tiled! Previously, it was just cement (the green colored one) and it was just becoming too 'old' & has started cracking & messing up the floor with its debris. The tile is great n everything, but to tile our room, they needed to elevate the floor by about an inch high, so when coming into my room, there's this 1-inch elevation that I need to step up to. And my 15years of walking into my room has made me kick the damn thing at least 5 times since I arrived yesterday!! And it's not even 24hours yet!! Fancy that /:)

Off back to the office. Hope K. Fadzila is already in. I won't know what to do if she's still out.

Program for SPM students waiting for SPM results

UNITEN will organize a 5 days workshop for SPM students who are currently waiting for their SPM results. The program is from 1 March 2010 to 5 March 2010. The purpose of the program is to allow the students to experience campus life and also to give an exposure to them on Engineering, IT and Business. COE is given a one day slot where we will bring the students to labs, workshops, research labs, classrooms. We will also give some talks and hands-on experience to the students on Robotics and Solar Car. If you know anybody who is waiting for SPM results and are interested to join this program, please give their particulars to Puan Nor Aini (NorAini@uniten.edu.my).

The students must meet the minimum requirements, based on their trial exam, to enter UNITEN for Engineering, IT or Business.

This program is free. UNITEN will provide foods and accommodation throughout the 5 days period. The traveling to UNITEN will be by the students.

Last week has been quite rough on me. Maybe I did wrong somewhere, & this might be my punishment, maybe? Heh ~

Lost my wallet last Friday. Somehow I managed to drop it outside of my car. -_-" sigh~! so, for the last 2 days I've got to know where the JPN & JPJ around here. Heheh .. well, at least I got something from it. Anyway, thank to Zul, I got my travel money to go back home to my sis' engagement.

Did you know that we've got to pay a hefty fine to renew our LOST MyKAD? RM110 for the first offence & it'll keep increasing up to the 4th time it happens (maxed at RM300+ if i recall correctly). Luckily I'm still a student, so I only got to pay RM50 rather than RM110. (a little oasis in the desert of a wallet lost with RM250 cash in it -_-" If you haven't get it yet, I'm flat broke now. I've got a RM400 debt on me right now. 200 had been paid, another 200 to my 'tabung'.)

Another thing happened yesterday when I wanted to report my lost driving license. I went around 8am to the JPJ. Then I was told to get a photocopy of my temporary IC to remake my license. So I went back to UNITEN (early morning jam), photocopied it, & went back to JPJ bangi (after going thru some more jam). "Lesen ni dah mati bulan 8 dulu." I was dumbstruck!! Imagine, I was driving back n forth KL-JB, to Alamanda, Mines, etc with a dead license in my wallet. Hahaha .. luckily, because of that, I only need to 'renew' my license 4 month late & don't need to pay the RM30 fine for losing my license!! Thank god. But on the other hand, the thing I photocopied was NOT NEEDED, as I was just 'renewing' my license. Heh, could've done it back at 8am & save me the jam, & the fuel!!

Hmm .. now everything's back to normal. Got a new wallet (thanks, aya), n everything's just as it should have been. Damned be the person who saw my fallen wallet & took it all RM250, while not having the courtesy to even call me!! I even left a name & phone number in the wallet in case things like this happens.

Sigh ~ that's life for you.

me & my life's update

Lame kut da tak tulis real post here. Last time before exam. Seems that my writing mood just doesn't kick in much lately (this past year!?). Hmm .. so while waiting around at the lab, I think I should at least write some recent stuff in my life.

First off, I've been staying back in Uniten. It seems that I've joined robocon (finally after being rejected from UTP's for my bad grade :P )team. As our competition date draws nearer, we are staying back during the holiday/ special semester. So far's our progress seems OK. My team's 2 robot carriers are almost complete. Just few more adjustments for the body & kago holders, the auto's program, & then we can start training a driver for themanual bot. Huhu but it sure is going to be hell to drive the manual bot. So far, all our tests yesterday using two manual bots resulted in the kago falling, which means we disqualified/ have to go for resets. The manual bot also kept pushing & tilting the 'auto' bot in front, which is a disqualifying offence. Sigh ~ hope we'll make it work before the fated time. 5-10 May 2009. GOGOGO!!

Munzir went back to UK today, after a 3weeks 3 days (if im not mistaken) easter holiday. Sent him at the LCCT. His flight left the ground at 5pm (tentatively). He'd arrive at London on 12am(GMT) but his bus will only leave for Leeds at 9. Sian die ~ hope he can find somewhere comfy to sleep. ALL THE BEST KAT SANA :) See you in June.

Regarding Munzir, mama had to drive home alone from here to jb. Sian kat mama, I thought of joining her, but then how am I going to go back here? By bus? Who's gonna pick me up? I've also taken 1 week off from the stayback, I feel wrong to just suddenly take another weekend off just like that. :( Sorry mama. I know these excuses means nothing, mama still drived home alone. :( I'm just glad mama arrived home safely tadi. WAIT FOR MY RETURN THIS SATURDAY, MAMA :)

Ayah's 100th day is coming up this Monday. I'l be home to be the representative at the masjid for ayah's tahlil. So I'll be coming home this Saturday. AL-FATIHAH FOR AYAH. Hmm lots of stuff need to be taken care of regarding ayah's inheritance.

Now back to work, robotnik!! (man ... I missed watching sonic cartoons like the old days)

Been ~~quite~~ very busy lately. One thing after another. Few tests, assignments, incoming finals. Sigh .. sometimes I just forget how tiring being a student is. Heheh... but I guess it's just normal. Especially it being the last few weeks of the semester.

Hmm tapi after listkan balik sumer .. xde la cam busy sgt pon actually. Cet .. aku cakap je busy .. cam x sgt pon . . . maybe it's just my time management dat needs refinements.

The final starts on 23rd March. THIS 23 MARCH!! Just a few more days. 23 - 5 = 18 more days. Afraid dat I'm not really prepared for it. 18 days, divided by 5 subjects = about 3 days for each subject.

AND the ticket, I still can't collect my exam ticket. Need to pay this semester's accomodation first, around rm1000+. Though actually MARA owes me 5000+ for the first semester's fee, so I actually dont's need to pay anything, but it's gonna be less hassle by just paying than trying to convince them like I did last sem. Anyway, even this semester's fee haven't been deducted yet, as usual. JPA's done, but not MARA. So I don't know when I'll be given my 1st semester's fees.

Life . . . just passes you by without you realising it.

:: A Grievous Moment ::

It has been a very tiring & ... surprising ... Sunday for all of us. Yesterday, Allah has called upon ayah to go to the afterlife. So sudden, so shocking, it's almost like a dream. Even now, I still feels it's like a dream. These two days seems like another person's story, not mine, not this family's. It's really not true how you always say/feel "it's never gonna happen to us, it only happens in paper/to other people". How untrue . . .
Here's the part where people will talk about how arwah was this & that. Well, I won't talk about it here. He was a great father. That's all I needed to say. People who knew him should know how was his life, who he was, what he is.
I was there with ayah during his last minutes. But before I go into details, I wanted to, on behalf of ayah, ask for all to forgive all sin/grudge they have towards ayah. If there's any unsettle business, do contact me.

My Sunday started at 5.40am. I was awaken by my maid, saying about mama told me to go to the clinic, ".. ayah sakit dada .." Never would I imagine it'd be ayah's last moments. The illness doesn't really ring a bell coz ayah has just came back from his Hajj pilgrimage, & has been coughing a lot since coming back. It's usual for someone to came back with a some cough & mild fever. But that day, ayah was having chest pain.
The doctor confirmed it was, after an EKG (I think) test, a heart attack .. or MI (myocardiac i) & wrote a letter of recomendation to HSA (Hosp. Sultanah Aminah). That's when mama call to have me accompany ayah at the clinic while she went back to take ayah's stuffs. Ayah seems fine to my untrained eyes. He said he had chest pains, & the dr confirmed it to be a heart attack. While waiting for mama, ayah went to the bathroom, took wudu', & did his subuh prayer. He was moving slowly, due to his chest pain, but otherwise seems okay to me. After he did his subuh prayer (Alhamdulillah, he did his subuh prayer), he went to the bathroom. That's when the second attack hit.
I was waiting outside, at the clinic's waiting area. Mama came, & we both waited for ayah to came out. When he was too late, I went to check. That's when i saw the the second most unforgettable moment in my life. Ayah laying facedown on the floor, some blood on the floor near nis forehead. "HELP!! DOKTOR2!!" & some other screams i shouted while running to ayah. Mama bashed the doctor's rest lounge door. The doctor came, checked his pulse, & ordered to call for an ambulance & wheelchair. It took us about 10 minutes to get ayah out of the restroom, due to one problem or another. After asking for 3 more guys, we finally manage to get him out to the waiting area. There, the doctor checked his pulse, & pronounced him gone. "Dia da takde." Straight to the point. No "I'm sorry", no nothing. Mama broke down. The top on my list of unforgettable moments in life. I think i said sumthing about "can't u defib him or do cpr or sumthin?"
"Da tak bole, he already stopped breathing. His heart stopped."
So I left dad on the wheelchair, in front of the doctor's room, & went to mama.

That was how I lost my father. How I became the man of the house now. I am sad, yet I am glad. For Allah has arranged him to go to the otherworld after being back from Hajj, after having meet his family (minus Hadi & Munzir who was oversea), after having done his subuh prayers. Allah took him from us at such a great time for him. For that, I am really glad.

"Ya Allah, ya Rahman, ya Rahim, may u bless his soul & put him among those you promised heaven."

Hadiahkan Al-Fatihah buat arwah Ir. Hj. Ahmad Fuaad bin Kassim. (He never really liked using either title unles necessary.)

what did I do today:

Woke up quite late, 7.30am. There goes my subuh. After fetching Alya, we went for breakfast. Nasi lemak + kerang2. Didn't have much appetite coz lately, I've been only eating in the late afternoon & evening. After I sent her to her office, I went back to my room & started 'transporting' the 2 new PCs (cpu + monitor + kibod&mouse) from my 4th floor room to my car. Luckily I'm using the lift, so it wasn't much work (still, quite tiring). So, I began my journey back home to Johor. All smooth sailing. A quick stop at Seri Putra to deliver the PCs, then home-bound!!
Was I wrong!!
After carrying the 2 PCs up to the office, went to fill up my car's tank & tyres. Then I saw it, a freaking nail, sticking out from my left-rear tyre!! No wonder it's so damn flat. So, off to the tyre shop for some quick patch-up. After it's done, off to JB~~
Again, I was wrong!!
I realised that I've left my backpack on my bed back in UNITEN. So, I doubleback to UNITEN, coz u see, the bag contains the money I needed to buy SAFF's stuffs. Man, how could I be so careless?? After the (rushed + 'gruelling') journey back to UNITEN, only then I was able to really start my 'balik kampung'.

Arrived home safely in the afternoon. First, I went to SAFF's office to install Kak Shidah's new monitor. Then I went back home. Home sweet home, at last. When I arrived home, my first thought was "Man, the house's really lonely." Our helper, Makcik Tutik is on holiday. So, only mama, firah, & I is at home. We just ate a simple dinner for the night, nasik + kuah paprik, home made, using old serai. Mama a.k.a the chef was quoted saying "kurang sedap, klu daun serainye fresh lagik, bole lagi sedap ni" Hehehe, nevertheless, I still think it's good, & we finished it all. Firah's been buggin me to help he open a blog. Hehehe, it seems that watching her father & brothers writing blogs made her want to have one. (^-^) Such cute lil' girl. "Esok tenet ade abg ajar, ye?"
Well, the funny thing is how she actually ask.

Got my last semester's result 2 days ago. Haven't shown it to anyone but Alya. Thought of showing to mama today, but the 'net's been down till now, when mama & Firah's already asleep. So, tomorrow I shall bring the not-so-good news to mama.

Sigh, I need to "get my acts together". That's what ayah always tell me. Study thoroughly. Don't waste this second chance. Redeem yourself. Well, actully I'm not really sure which one is ayah's & which one is mine. But the bottom line is, TOPeX, u've done sh#t, now that u've got a 2nd chance, don't #$%^(*& blew it!! Hope everyone who knew my story will have a head-start warning as to what might happen if u let urself do sh#t. I'm lucky to have a 2nd chance, & I'm very thankful. But will every1 got a 2nd chance? THM, learn from my mistake!

Aaah, such long time my break from writing is. Felt this way in a long time I have not. Adios, off to dreamland!! Starting Monday 8am classes I shall be having. Go to sleep early that I need most.

Holiday o holidays

After a long silence, suddenly this will be the last week of my 1 month sem break. Whatever happened to the 2nd-half of my semester? Next week I'll be starting my 3rd semester here in UNITEN. Settled my accommodation. I finally got a room in C1, though it's tid worse than my previous room.

no window. Yup, u read right, my room got no freakin' GLASS WINDOW, just an empty hole where a glass window shud be!! Why on earth would the prev occupant rid the room of a glass window, I have absolutely no idea. Now I'm faced with muscle cramps due to the night's cold air. *sigh*
The shower head's gone missing, a normal occurrence, also it's urm . . . 'tombol(???)' to turn the shower on. Had to use a spanner to turn the shower on. HOW COOL IS THAT?!!
The toilet's lamp's out (like my old house's shower room.)
The wardrobe mirror's also missing. Maybe the guy before had problem with seeing his own face. *sigh*
The study tables are missing 1 chair. The lounge's sofa set is also missing one single seater.

I'm now own some PC hunting mode for SAFF. The company got some computer allocations for 2008, so I have to get few computers, some Office & AutoCADs, and maybe a storage solution, a server maybe, or just a simple RAID-able network storage device. Hmmmm. Been to the Mines yesterday, bought a 19" widescreen for Kak Shidah at JB's office. Will bring it back this weekend. I'm actually test-driving the LCD right now!! :D Though, I seem to be unable to take the 'base leg' off for re-storage. -_-"

I'm going for RAID coz one of the office's portable drive just broke down again, & with it all the crucial data within)

On another note, the exam's result will be announced within this week. DOKI² shimasu!! All I can do now is pray & hope for the best!!

Been quite busy lately. 3 test day-to-day. (^-^) Lucky the mid-sem breaks is just around the corner. I feel so tired!! Feels like going to sleep for ten days. Even the breaks don't seem nice enough, because just after the break, it's back to hellish workish everydayish flushisdkaldnlesfnkjsdkajlnfreulgish!!!

2 lab reports on Monday, Project 1 for electronics lab, design challenge 1 for digital lab, essays for BM on tuesday, and the list goes on.

A Walk to Remember

"Ring ring" shouted my phone.

"Jom kuar jalan2 pusing tasik jom."
"Ok."

So we went for a walk, around the lake, at 6.30pm, today. Just your usual average walk. Go around the lake. Then towards the horse ranch, which then we went back after halfway through coz its getting dark. So we went back to the lake, luckily one pondok was empty.

So we sat there & started snapping at each other. Snapping pictures (^_^) After a while, we went to UPTEN to have our dinner.

It felt great. I guess a little light exercise do feel nice. It's really been a ~~while~~ long time since I moved my muscles. So, as part of our campaign to stay healthy (& save fuel at the same time), we decided that we'll walk ourselves to school (& workplace). We'll be walking starting tomorrow.

Wish us luck in keeping this campaign up & ~~running~~ walking.

Bukit Tinggi

Just came back from a 3 days and 2 nights (actually it's just 2d2n) holiday.

Man .. t'was tiring, especially being the driver. Huhuhu ...

I'll start off why is this holiday quite important... Well, we haven't had a full-quorum holiday for quite some time. There's always one or two of us missing. So, when Hadi was to come back for this mere 2 weeks, Ayah told me, "Abang, pi carik tmpat kite leh pi holiday that weekend." The only weekend Hadi's here. "Bukit Tinggi ok tak? Aritu mama cakap cam teringin nak pi sane." said I.

So I searched & search, but not until mama 'helped' that we finally booked a Selesa Hillhomes apartment. Mama called and asked for the 3-room-apartments, but none were available for the 2 nights. So, we settled with the 2-room-apartments.

Lil' that we know, that 2-room-apartment was the same (though not the exact same unit) as the one we rented out years ago, when we were still small. I barely remembers that trip to Bukit Tinggi.

So we set off to our second Bukit Tinggi trip (1st for Fira & 3rd for kakak) at around 5, Friday. And we arrived around 8 (I think ... didn't remember .. hmmm)

We went to a few places, took a lot of pictures, and we tire ourselves. :P

Busy bEE!!

Been not so quite busy this past week. Just haven't had the time nor the computer to really write.
Still trying to adapt myself back to uni life.

This sem, i got 3 days of 8am classes, and two 9am ones. So it will be tiring for me, to always wake up early in the morning, (though i shouldn't have any complaints, subuh is around 6am!!)
InsyaAllah, I'll strife to do my best this sem, & do better than last semester.

Anyway, had a major headsplitting headache & missed my afternoon classes last Wednesday. & I've been having minor headaches till now, especially during hot periods, i.e. the BURNING AFTERNOONS!!! Sigh!

Sigh ... quite the year. Not much of a year I'm proud of, the first half of it. The latter half, I'm proud to say I did all those half-a-year!

It's July already. We're halfway thru 2008. Man, time sure flies. And here I am, trying to write when I'm not in a writing mood. So, I'll just write about my last few days.

We went to Kuala Selangor last weekend. Makcik Pe's wedding. Etc² yada². zzz

Grrrr.

When I opened my brother's blog this morning, i noticed his most recent post, A Journey Down Memory Lane (Part 1).

It made me ponder a while. It has been more than 10 years since we moved here. Back then, I was in Primary 3, 1995's mid-year holidays. Heheh, still remembered (vaguely) the first trip to Taman Sri Pulai with mama, looking at the new house. For every little thing I see unfit about the house, I said "Takyah beli la rumah ni, ade xxxx" or "Teruknye rumah ni, tayah beli la, mama". Till mama grew tired (and angry) at poor little me, who didn't want to move away to a new place, new friends, new school, new house, new life.
As sure as the sun will set, we eventually moved here despite my (frail + funny) attempt to discredit the house on our first visit there. A big lorry (or is it two?) and ayah's proton saga W-- 5400 (I think... cant remember the plate number) made their way all the way from 36, Jalan Maktab, to our new home in Taman Sri Pulai.

And fast forward to now, almost 15 years, 13 years to be exact, on June 2008. Lots of sweet sour salty bitter experiences. My home sweet home. And, now, after a new addition to our siblings, Zafirah, 4 boarding school lives, we are leaving the house, maybe for good. I don't know. The four of us siblings are (almost) big enough to fly on our own, leaving the nest for good. Zafirah will follow mama, if she decided to move to Selangor after she retires. What's in store for my sweet 2ara3, only time will tell.
If it's up to me, I'd hate to see it sold off to a stranger. Disliked seeing it rented to another. But alas, i dont have the authority (I ain't the owner) nor the moolah to keep it. As for me living there, I saw only a (very very) slim chance. I dont think Alya would settle for living in Johor.

(^-^) mixed feeling when thinking about the home that watched me grew up.
